Back in the day, he couldn't hit those high notes. Ironically, he got better as he got older. Still, I adore this song because it's message speaks to me on a certain degree

Yeah that first riff reminds me of Carcass - Embodiment a lot! That song is thier best song off Heartwork imo! Who wouldn't wanna steal a riff off Bill Steer & Mike Amott there GODS

Dude I used to deliver pizza to him...N Elm street, Wallingford CT. Google map it if u want. I worked somewhere else with his little brother. My old guitarist was on the bill a bunch of times when hatebreed was small time.

Shadows Fall came up there too, along w/ many others. Being on the bill opening up for HB was no big deal back then. My old drummer opened for hatebreed, I opened for SF a bunch of times. Whoopity-doo. Watching them now, even live, even close in the "pit" , you might as well just watch a dvd. Just not the same. It's like the kindergarten version for sure 8^D

I remember watching these guys playin for 30-40 ppl at the Hanover house in meriden. Well before that crack haven was torn down. That's when they were really hatebreed. Shanahan was a kid from a very residential cul-de-sac type neighborhood in a quaint little town, lol. He fuckin made it tho. For sure. Being trapped in a 30'x40' room packed nuts-to-butts with monsters throwing elbows and spin kicks, loving it. That's hatebreed. CT skate in bristol, The Webster riot. Knives, guns, Good times....
