I remember the hoo ha when he did this song. The joke was on them because it was all Harry, but they thought he had doubles in the film and the vocal track. He had to control everything he produced. That's why he was so brilliant. He was a genius (when drunk or sober) and a great loss when he died... Sadly his life spiralled out of control when the booze took over.

Harry is so great, but yea, those back ground singers look like a couple of dopes. They totally ruin the song. He should have gotten two guys that sounded a little bit more like him. only Harry!

Great story is that one review took Harry to task for not crediting the backup singers on an album, not realizing that Harry did all the vocal tracks on the album. When John Lennon and Paul McCartney were in New York. John was asked who his favorite American artist and Paul was asked who his favorite American group was. Both answered "Nilsson" because of his vocal layering

I am so glad so many young folks love & respect this guy. That ensures he won't be forgotten. Superb musician. My introduction to him was when I was a little girl & he released the hit record, "Me & My Arrow." Have been a fan ever since.

Interesting note. Harry agreed to do the BBC special, as long it was done on an empty soundstage. The scene with the audience was stock footage. The closing gag was likely stage crew

When the trio reaches "Let the Good Times Roll," they've gotten their groove and the medley becomes worthwhile :)

This was cutting edge back then. Also he was a pioneer in multi track music. He was one of the earliest artist that recorded multiple tracks and "Mixed" them together. Before computers and auto tune.

Honestly, I watch this video all the time. It's a shame post people my age (20's) have no clue who Harry is. I've been listening to him since the mid 90's when I stumbled upon one of his CD's that my mom had. He was a true musical genius. Something that is nearly impossible to come by these days.
