Is there a video of Harry performing Taxi on his first visit to the Tonight Show? I cannot seem to find that. Also, I think he did Sniper on the Tonight Show at some point, too. Would love to see that as well.

Harry Chapin, another great artist who was taken too soon. Rest in peace, Harry. I'll bet you're still spinning tales, entertaining the hosts of Heaven. Singing songs about mashed bananas, Mr Tanner, and maybe one of my old time favorites, Flowers Are Red. You touched a whole generation, Harry, and you are dearly missed.

I wish I'd been alive to see Harry in concert. Being a 90's kid will do that to you. I discovered him while riding home from school one day, and now I have all of his songs.

Living Room Suite is the album that exposed me to Harry, (except for "Cats In The Cradle", of course), and I bought it solely by the cover. I love every song on it, particularly Poor Damned Fool, cuz they all speak to me in different ways. He had such a way of putting his feelings into words; I know no other gifted as he was. I cry every time I hear almost any of his songs. Harry, you are loved and missed.

As a kid I saw Harry live at Ball State in Indianapolis, musta been 1978. Had tickets to a show he was scheduled to play in Indy when he died. He was one of the last of the best.

@blankppr Haha I did that to one of my brother's Harry Chapin cassette tapes (yes that thing of the past) lol I loved the album Living Room Suite and the song Why Do The Little Girls?. So I would constantly keep rewinding to that song over and over. Definitely did some damage to the tape haha He's always been a constant inspiration to me. Love every part of his music. You still listen to him?

As a young child, I played my parent's Harry Chapin CD so many times that it wouldn't play certain songs anymore. =( I barely even remember that age but I remember trying to play songs on the CD and knowing or feeling that it was my fault for playing it too many times.
