You´re right with that intro,same chords and same type of melody but rest of the song is totally different. And there wouldn't have been bands like Guns and Roses without Hanoi Rocks, that's for sure. Besides this times Hanoi sounded so british band and GnR was so loaded with american blues and country and hard rock influences. GnR was tougher but Hanoi had more melodic songs and playing.
