Vaden if you're (please not it is NOT your) going to comment at least demonstrate basic literacy. *There* indicates where something is. As for your (please note it is NOT you're) obvious contempt for President O'Bama ... one can reasonably surmise you are a support of that world wide joke known as baby Bush.

Hank Jrs recordings are definently among my favorites. But live, he truly sucks. I seen him 20 yrs ago or so, at Jones country Texas. And him and his band were so fucked up they could barely talk straight, and people started pooing them. Well instead of trying to do something to help the matter, instead they allo jumped off stage and started fist fighting the audience. It was really pathetic, they ruined the whole fucking show. But I still love his old redneck style country and blues in th 70,80

A couple of weeks ago I bought the Hank Williams jr album Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound. The title appealed to me, it was in the $5 bin, I was on a road trip, and by god I listen to and like country music. The second track on that album is the video below, titled Tired Of Being Johnny B. Good.I listened to Bocefus (that's his nickname) when I was in high school, but hadn't really checked in on the old boy in a number of years, and was never really what you'd call a devoted fan. By the third stanza in the song I was kind of amazed at how relevant he had managed to remain. The song is all about how average working men are finding it hard to adjust to tough economic times, and how tired they are of being told to cut back by people who live lives of excess. It's really a very relevant commentary on our times. And then I listened to it a second time. The second line is "And I aint crazy about dollar a gallon self service gasoline."I did a mental spit take when I heard that. Dollar a gallon! Man. I wish! It occurred to me then, that this might not be a contemporary recording. Sure enough, the song was recorded in 1979.Here's the point, in the last 33 years, the average American's problems really haven't changed. They're still concerned about the very same things. Republican, Democrat, it hasn't really mattered. Despite what the doom seers and hyperbole chiefs want you to believe, things aren't on the tipping point. We aren't about to implode as a nation into a socialist dystopian nightmare of forced gay marriages any more than we are close to tumbling ourselves into a right wing tyranny of fundamentalist theocracy. Now, more than ever perhaps, things are pretty much just like they've always been.
