The famous Beast from my Hammond C3: the classic 'Jon Lord-sound' of Deep Purple.

I used a Boutique-made effect unit with spring reverb, gain boost and equalizer to make it possible.

Excuse my camera for the poor sound.

P.S.: I'm a drummer!

You've really nailed Lord's sound. I too am not an organist (I play Guitar and Bass) and have wondered how he got that great biting sound. What are your drawbar settings?

This is an incredible sound! Can you tell us where/how to hook-up our B's like you did?

How do you get distortion?

If we ever (for whatever reason) should get a person to play the keyboard for our band, it would sound exactly like this. And we play death metal. There's no comparison for a hammond organ with distortion and overdive. Amen.

John Lord got this sound by feeding the organ through a vintage Marshall amp. Which "boutique-made effect" are you using?

Nice! I think that Perfect Strangers (original) had a sound that.. sounds more fat, with more bass organ.

I was reading some of these comments, and to this day, there are some people that I will never understand why they must be the way they are.....1 example that I read made a decent remark about the sound of the organ, why couldn't you just leave it at that? You had to go and prove to everyone what an insecure little asshole you are. Don't you think for one minute that that person playing in the video know that he's not JON LORD? If you nothing helpful or pleasant to say,go away and try to find who YOU really are!

Man, I'm always saying to musicians , if your in a guitar music band and you want to expand the sound pallette, ignore all the other keys (well maybe a rhodes, if your looking for that sort of thing) , and use a hammond. These bad boys are just built to sound fucking great in guitar based rock and roll IMHO. Hell I've played in fast punk bands on a hammond, and everyones been blown away as if even that most of keys resistant genres itself was incomplete without it.

That's a really special C3 there, that has the sound that people would go through several C3s to try and get! And of course, your modifications add to that charm, this one really does sound amazing, I'm very jealous here watching, even if I do have my own wonderful Hammond! We need to see MORE Deep Purple covers from you!!!BTW, I like your username being inspired by the C3's preamp part number ;)
