To Jackie Buckman, and anyone else interested, at the time Jim O'Rourke recorded this EP he was very interested in ideas about the role of the narrator in songs and stories; about how people assume the narrator is always to be trusted and often get insulted, almost on a personal level, when they find out this isn't always true. The lyrics are intentional. The offense is not. He's not singing to a specific person. He's not singing to anyone, especially not to you. It's just a song. And the fact that you're disgusted has proved his experiment, at least in his eyes.
