Blues is elemental music, but so much of it is performed in an entitled self-satisfied way. This performance earns its keep, its honestly moving. Its soulfully filmed, really fine visually.  Ruthie Foster always  finds unique compelling avenues through her music, and her guest performances, to excavate truth. She's an original stirring voice, though she'd be the first to say she owes debt to wonderful artists who preceed her---she has a wonderful honesty. I haven't heard Hadden Sayers previously, I'm going to follow him, he has heft. I like this very much. Thanks for posting this, Mr. Sayers!
