[Song starts at 1:15 and ends at 6:20, but I kept the intros & bows to give you the complete picture.] Steve Hackett invited guests Chris Squire (of Yes) and John Wetton (of UK, King Crimson etc) to join his band for their encore. They played Dylan's All Along the Watchtower. This was at their second show on the 2014 Cruise to the Edge.

what is this undying romance w/ Jimi Hendrix? he's like James Bond, except Bond NEVER dies. all the men want to play like him, and all the women want his shlong. enuf already. let the fracker rest in peace. personally i do not think he is/was god's right hand. when i have visions of sugar plums dancin' around my cortex, i do not think of Hendrix (or the stupid rumour of him joining ELP). if Hendrix was so wonderful, and thought as much of his talent, and himself as we do why did he do so much dope he choked on his vomit? as well as several other musicians/people, including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Williams, Whitney Houston, et.al., Kurt Cobain, and so forth, ad nauseum. i have been depressed my entire life. but i think life is worth living. i read and learn incessantly; i am writing a novel; i listen to all kinds of music, i love my cat. most days i wake up and feel: what's the fracking point, but i get up, and slog thru some more. i like who i am, troubled or not. copping out because all this shite is so overwhelming is not an option, and we should not romanticize people that take that route. Jim Morrison: you were a egotistical coward. and if any of you think this is too much, and you should make a grand gesture, think again. you don't get a second chance, whether you are talented and/or famous or not. so quit going on about Hendrix like he was the best thing since whipped cream. you are much more important and relevant than he ever was.m.k. smith

l'd love to hear how this would sound if they'd cut a studio track of it, or even if Steve would do another Tokyo Tapes type show with Chris involved this time.

I thought Squire and Wetton had to stay at opposite ends of the boat at all times?

How Jimi would have loved to be in this jam. He was a muso through and through; more so than a performer or rock star.

I would have liked a different song choice, but it is fun to see these guys on the same stage, that's for sure.

I guess Chris doesn't know the tune. His performance is awful and not even close to sounding on key...

Like how Squire has to wear his bass even HIGHER than he used to!!!...not because it helps his playing but because it sits ON TOP of his belly?!?!?..BWAHAHAHAHA....
