The Rival sons basically sound like a combination of all the bands I already fucking love so they are so perfect.

And people saying that "Guitar Music" (It's called rock people, stop sounding like you're in denial) is dead.  Silly people...

These guys sound like someone else the same way every other band sounds like someone else. For every sound there was a similar sound before it. Led Zeppelin borrowed heavily from the early blues men in the States. Some of their best songs are flat out covers. Does this mean Zeppelin sucked?! I don't think anyone who has any appreciation of rock n roll would say so. Sounding like your predecessors is not a bad thing.

I recall an interview with Chris Robinson when he was asked about the Crows sounding like the Faces/Allman Brothers etc...his response was along the lines of "We don't set out to sound like them but, hey, that's pretty good company to be in"

And they borrowed from....etc. Also pick up Bad Company/Free, Small Faces/Humble Pie and a few other bands in there.Does it bother me? No, not in the slightest! If these bands were around today I'd be seeing them so what's wrong in having all those sounds in one package. If I were in a band I'd be playing this sort of stuff anyway.

It's what the Black Crowes borrowed from The Faces.

These guys and The Black Keys are two of the very few bands worth listening to these days. Period.

Lots of mentions of Zeppelin in relation to this band...anyone else hear just a hint of The Black Crowes in here?
