"L.A. Freeway" from Guy Clark's 'Live From Austin TX' performance. Buy it today on Amazon http://amzn.to/HhOgDt or iTunes http://smarturl.it/GuyClarkLFAT.

Guy Clark is the quintessential Texas songwriter, and considering the company he's in, that's saying a lot. That's why this performance is a priceless treasure. It contains all the classics, from "LA freeway" and "Desperados Waiting for a Train" to "Texas Cookin'" and "Homegrown Tomatoes," plus a wrenching version of the late Townes Van Zandt's "To Live Is To Fly."

I hope to see him live once. He has one show scheduled this year, I'm gong to try to make it. HIs voice was best during the Dublin Blues album.

I've been hoping for one song on youtube, just one friggin' song, that did not have even one thumbs down. If this version of Guy's best song can't even be immune to the thumbs down, then nothing ever will.

Yes he wrote this; it's one of his better-known songs!

i grew up in the Texas hill country, a child of the 70s, when music was the best, real folkd, country, American, roots rock, Guy right there with it, Steve Earle cutting his teeth on it, those days are sorely missed now by this MN resident. God bless Guy and a the peace of glory for his beloved girl.

I guess that this is from the 80s from the look and voice of Guy
