Billy Sheehan is the better guitarist in this tune and certainly the better musician... GG is a genius in what he does, especially his own tunes.10 years ago

technically yes, but that doesn't mean people actually prefer to listen to GG more than JB, except for certain guitarists.. Take Allan Holdsworth vs Mark Knopfler/Clapton/Gilmour etc.. most would tell you they'd prefer to listen much more to the latter, even though AH is in a league of his own. Just enjoy their individuality and remember music isn't a competition.10 years ago

Of course it makes you a better player but music is not actually what you play, it is what your audience hears/feels. To me I think Govan has much much more feeling than Beck. I only hear some floppy whammy trying from Beck and I hate listening to 99% of Beck songs he just ruins the feel with whammy. I like more of Guthrie's art but I respect to Jeff too...
