I always perceived Slash to be solely about the music, no political bullshit. I continue to respect that about him as that's what real musicians do! Axl was a complete control freak. Velvet Revolver and Slash's Snakepit were cool as was his solo stuff with guest vocalists. Now he's got the Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators thing happening which is also very cool - not to mention the guest appearances he's made on other artists' albums like Steve Lukather, etc. Axl on the other hand?!

There is much more to the dynamics of GNR and why it all fell apart and it doesnt all lay on the shoulders of Axl. Ego and addiction are something that will tear any band apart regardless of who they are and GNR had significant amounts of both. I still hold hope that a reunion will one day happen, Slash is a great guitarist and Axl was a voice of a generation and a excellent song writer. Most other members of Guns have returned to play with Axl in some capacity the only hold out is Slash...So here is hoping that the bridge is not completely burned and the possibility still exists.
