Incorrect. Look at the ridiculous amount of bootlegs and proshots available from the beginning. If anything, since everything has gone from SD to HD, his performance should be clearer in the mix. His voice broke and he's trying not to fuck it up even more by not pushing with force (belting) like he used to. Look up 'belting'... it's an actual technique... and it's the reason why Robert Plant lost his range as well.
