Frank Black. Come on, man. You just made yourself look like you have no idea what you're talking about. Yes, Jack Black, from Tenacious D and The Pixies. I had no idea he was so influential.

@R0WMaC The post is valid for two reasons. #1 Unlike anything you've had to say it involves testimony directly from the person involved in the dispute and #2 Listen to The Pixies and then listen to the Violent Femmes. Nick Cave, Bithday Party, Bad Seeds, etc. have a lot less to do with the Pixies' sound than the Femmes do. Lastly, when you level threats on the internet you just look like a f%$ing moron. Go lift some weights or get a girlfriend.

@ratblues Nice catch ratblues. What I meant to say was that Frank Black stated bluntly stated this himself.

No, you're a Pixie's fan and that colors all your frame of reference.

I think Caves later arrangements sound nothing like his earlier work and that it this later stuff (Grinderman included) was influenced by the Pixies. The Pixies themselves were mostly influenced by the Violent Femmes. Jack Black bluntly stated this himself. Ultimately who cares. All bands mentioned here are high integrity acts with that will live forever in rock art history.

Nick Cave was around looooong before the Pixies. Listen to his other bands...Bad Seeds, Birthday Party...i think you'll find the Pixies were influenced by him.
