I listen to this almost every day. it's like the exact point of all that is beautiful. to me, it's a song about the deep-seated faithfulness of God towards His creation.

Never liked country music or folk music...But this artist, and this song in particular, are incredible. I think THIS is the best example of real, American music. Heh, and he's not even a born American. Love it.

Sounds very similar to Passenger, Heart's on Fire.

Does anyone care to share on their interpretation of "I've gone crazy couldn't you tell, I threw stones at the stars but the whole sky fell"?

Love the song. Lyrics that tell a story felt in the heart. American folk music, probably all folk music traditions, are rooted in storytelling, and the melody is the vehicle. But, yeah, that tune did sound a bit familiar. Is it this, is it that? How about Cheryl Crow, " Are You Strong Enough To Be My Man?" Yeah, that's it! But it works on it's own, straight to the heart. I do draw the line, though, at Sam Smith and "Stay with Me." Ton Petty's "Won't Back Down" was way more fun!

remember when our songs where just like prayers.like gospel hymns that you called in the air.come down come down sweet reverence, unto my simple house and ring…and ring.ring like silver, ring like goldring out those ghosts on the ohioring like clear day wedding bellswere we the belly of the beast or the sword that fell…we’ll never tell.come to me clear and cold on some seawatch the world spinning waves..like some machinenow i’ve been crazy couldn’t you telli threw stones at the stars, but the whole sky fellnow i’m covered up in straw, belly up on the tablewell and sang and drank, and passed in the stable.that tall grass grows high and brown, well i dragged you straight in the muddy groundand you sent me back to where i roamwell i cursed and i cried, but now i know…now i knowand i ran back to that hollow againthe moon was just a sliver back thenand i ached for my heart like some tin manwhen it came oh it beat and it boiled and it rang..its ringingring like crazy, ring like hellturn me back into that wild haired galering like silver, ring like goldturn these diamonds straight back into coal

This song. It's just so beautiful and lulling and sad. So many emotions. So well written. So much imagery. I love it. The art behind it is just overwhelmingly great.

Saw Gregory at an e-Town event in Ft. Collins a few years back. Great vibe; he's so real... rooted, authentic, humble and... wistful.
