Learning More

I knew the song (from Jackson Brown) was unfamiliar with Greg Allman's version.

Nothing comes close to the first recording, Nico's. These come off as campfire covers of that first masterpiece.

That voice..the voice that captures hearts, soothes souls, touches places that sometimes brings tears, other times brings euphoria.Gregg Allman is an American icon and we are so very lucky to have had him around for all these years. God bless you Mr Allman, I hope you are blessed as you have blessed us with your musical genius. Does the word 'love' describe all I feel for you ? I think there should be a word that surpasses even 'love' It just doesn't seem enough.

sheesh, Jackson Browne wrote this song when he was 16. Common people. Musicians cover each other's music all of the time.

I wore out the grooves on the "Laid Back" album back in 74-75. Replaced it at least twice over the years. Every so often the mood just requires me to dust it off and play. 40 years later, still sounds great.

:LAID BACK ALBUM is my favorite solo album with some of GREGG's best writing! Every song is AWESOME & when I saw him at TEMPO's in 1988 in Nashville. he said that I requested most of his favorite songs which was almost every song from LAID BACK!! Last line of song sums it all up; DON'T CONFRONT ME WITH MY FAILURES, I'M AWARE OF THEM!! Such a awesome concert because TEMPOS only held at the most 100 people & you really got to be up close & personal with the famous artist!! TOM PINSON, I hope you remember this because you went inside his dressing room when he took a break!!

Back in the early 70's Browne was asked about G. .Allman's version of "These Days" ,a song he wrote......Browne said the song belonged to Gregg.

I rather like the minimalist version of Tom Rush better, but that was the one I heard first.
