Greg Stillwell - Roses Of Picardy - A Tribute To Buddy Greco video free download
Here I am singing a song that I originally recorded in 2005. It's played over a newly made montage of clips, and pictures, in tribute to one of the greats in the business - Buddy Greco. Written by Frederick Weatherly, and Haydn Wood in 1916, this song is thought of as one of the most famous ones of World War 1. It has been sung over the years by such artists as Al Jolson, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, and Mr. Greco, whose version I'm using here. It's a real swinger from his 1962 Columbia/Epic CD entitled, "Let's Love". The amazing arrangement is by Al Cohn. I hope you'll enjoy my version of this song, and my tribute to this singing legend!

Kid, I love this! How did I miss it! I love you swingin' like this. It all went by in a blur! Had to watch it several times to drink it all in! In fact, I had to catch my breath! Terrific! You have mastered the style. This is a great way to sing a song and you carry the art forward into the new century. Wonderful composition as well, early 20th century, echoed in the '60's by one of the greats. Done in a day before cardboard amplified electric guitars when crooners had the big bands to back them up.
