Lyrics:

Staring out of my window

Watching the clouds

Go rolling by

My friends are gone

I've got nothing to do

So I sit here patiently

Watching the clock

Tick so slowly

Gotta get away

Or my brains will explode

Give me something to do to kill some time

Take me to that place that I call home

Take away the strains of being lonely

Take me to the tracks at Christie Road

See the hills from afar

Standing

On my beat up car

The sun went down

And the night fills the sky

Now I feel like me

Once again

As the train comes rolling in

Smoked my boredom gone

Slapped my brains up so high

Give me something to do to kill some time

Take me to that place that I call home

Take away the strains of being lonely

Take me to the tracks at Christie Road

Mother, stay out of my way

Of that place we go

We'll always seem

To find our way

To Christie Road

Mother, stay out of my way

Of that place we go

We'll always seem

To find our way

To Christie Road

If there's one thing that I need

That makes me feel complete

So I go to Christie Road

It's home

It's home

It's home

It's home

It's home

@Rick Stafford hate to break it to you, but the Offspring's "Smash" is the best selling independent album of all time. Although, "Kerplunk" is up there as far as sales go.

I think I'm the last person on earth who likes all of Green Day's music old or new. And last person on earth who doesn't think of them as "sell outs"

I still say the last 90 seconds don't sound THAT MUCH like "Smells Like Teen Spirit", though very cool. And sorry to break it to you kiddies, but "nimrod" wasn't punk, and was the point in which they sold out. They ceased being punk long before AI came out (though nimrod is their angriest album imo). And Dookie and Insomniac WERE punk records. The Ramones were on a major label, too. Did they sell out just by doing so? Unless you answered "yes" to that question, you cannot complain about Dookie. Sorry.

But notice the difference! Kerplunk stayed true to the Punk nature of the band while American Idiot was pretty much the death of it. Some how I think they even said it in their songs. St. Jimmy might of been their way of telling fans that punk Green Day was dead and thats that.

Selling out wasn't the big deal, changing their sound and style was. Punk fans made Green Day and after they were recognized they pretty much said "Fuck you punk fans, we prefer pop music fans and we are going to try to appeal to them now that they know who we are"

But you need to see the other side of the coin, some of us only liked Green Day because we were loyal punk fans. So let me rephrase what most angry Green Day fans feel. Any real punk fan only listens to 1039 to Nimrod. Afterward Green Day pretty much lost their punk fan base and gained a different type of fan base. One that is more on the pop culture side if you catch my drift. Also they started wearing more make up and tighter pants. Im sure its somehow related.

oh please, everyone knows that only a TRUE green day fan listenes to 39/smooth. Kerplunk is such a sell out album, having actual fans and stuff by '91 ugh what were they thinking. THIS is how stupid all of you sound.
