I've been thinking about the differences between this and "Bloody Claws", its equivalent in GR1. Bloody Claws is kind of listless, drifting; it has ideas and motifs in it that don't really go anywhere or develop, but it still has power. Then this, Night Gale, has those same motifs and basic structures in it, much like Raven herself, but something's very different about it; that power has direction and purpose. Every bit of the song is pushing in one direction. It's a hero's theme, not the scary but uncertain antagonist theme it once was. I really think that's a deliberate reflection of Raven's character and the difference between who she was and, at this moment, who she is and what she's damn well going to achieve.

Jfc, I don't even know why I was spacing out on the tab while listening. I did not expect that.
