The only thing that would make this better would be a feature with the Queen of blues herself, Janis Joplin.

... and according to Wikipedia, Fred Foster shared composition with Kris ... But I heard another tale ... A Swedish bassist I met casually on the street in Varnemö Sweden said he toured with Kris and one night out in the hills on the road they had a quarter beef barbecue for the crew. Around the campfire this Swedish guy was playing a Swedish folk song. Chris liked it and asked if it would be cool for him to use for a song. Bobby was the result. True or not ... I don't know. Your dad must have been in a really dark place to kill himself over a song. A pretty good song I would say.

Theese *gays* didn't ask your father to fight for them somewhere on our planet. And if the Grateful Dead wouldn't have been there he would have found some reason else to commit suicide.
