Grant Lee Buffalo always gave their best in their soft ballads, like American Stars and Stripes, Fuzzy, Honey dont think etcetera....Phillips tone is awesome does anyone know why GLB have not become as famous as U2 ? :-(

I SOOOOO under-appreciated this record when it first came out. I thought it lacked what Mighty Joe moon and Fuzzy had. Much to my surprise it aged exTREMEly well and it's one of my favourites now

@rwlundy82 - It could be an ebow. It's a magnetic device you put over strings to create an artificial feed back. Not sure if you're a Pearl Jam, Eddie uses one on the song Wish List from the album Yield. The pitch would come depend on which string you were playing and the fret placement. Youtube Ebow or watch a live version of that PJ song. Hope that helps.
