ledrotten: I too, think some of Grand Funk's post-trio work pales in comparison to the trio era. This song's an exception - the best of the quartet era. We can blame ex-producer Terry Knight for Grand Funk (Railroad) doing away with the trio era, as they had to commercialize their sound after Knight basically stole everything from them, with GF attempting to recoup their losses from that thief! Mr. Knight gets no sympathy from me, even after his death.Bravo, Grand Funk!

I love this 1976 Grand Funk Railroad hit, which peaked @ #69 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart! "Sally" should've hit the Top 40!Bravo, Mark, Don, Mel & Craig!

RE:ledrotten..Everybody moves on Brother. No music,no human or anything stays the same forever including GFR. Everything has to change some time or they die becoming extinct that is why change is necessary for new life to exist again. Humans move on in their own personal life. They grow up and grow older. They settle down in their life to have a real relationship, get married and have children. Everybody cannot be married to the same music or band forever in their personal life. John Fogerty left CCR and never returned after the band's last reunion. So just as many humans change in their life the music commitment they record also changes too.

Marks tribute to Sally Kellerman , a fine lady ,but not his finest work , guess you had to be there , at this time l was elwhere cause music like this , tho sweet to many perhaps ,just lost that Grand edge , overly produced trite l thought at the time . I blamed it on conciously choosing to do away with the trio mentality ... Mark still rocks , but not here....
