Apologies for That

We sung this in primary school and part way through I just burst into tears, to this day I have no idea why, and I'm not really a crying person. Such an internally powerful song ;)

Laura Wright and Collabro brought the house down for me at the VE Day concert the other week (with the fabulous orchestra), a fitting tribute to the legend that was Gracie Fields. Its the most rousing and uplifting song ever, along with the Marsellaise.

This was played at my grandad's funeral, he thought it would be a great choice and it gave everyone a smile. Love and hugs to everyone who has lost someone!

They know how to spin it out, that's for sure, making a 3 minute song out of 1 verse!

My Mum (91 years) and I have agreed that if she dies before me we will play this Gracie Fields number at her funeral. Just as with Ellie Hummerstone below there will be many tears. But the song will bring smiles as well.

Played this at the end of my Dads Funeral, thankful we were able to plan it with him beforehand... we thought it was funny! It still makes me laugh at the look on everyones face....lol

Barry Humphries played this at the end of his farewell tour performance here in Bristol. So funny, so British eccentric so moving. Makes you think what great music to play at your funeral ????

This tune was played by the band at my passing out parade, 1993 in Pirbright, Surrey, UK. Marched off the parade square with some pride.

Yeah, the recent experiment with unprecedentedly high immigration made the UK so strong hasn't it? And that 'every respect' of benefits I'm sure includes the current acute housing shortage, the job shortage, the school place shortage, falling real wages year on year as labour supply outstrips demand (worse since the 1920s), our pressured public services and our prison population which is now 42% ethnic minority and rising fast. 56% of young Black men in UK are on the dole - what a strengthening!

My nan's funeral was the other day and this song was played by her request and I cried uncontrollably... I could hear her singing it to me... I will miss her too much... RIP
