Haha nice 2 different comments 3 years apart highlight the same moment! This very special concert gives 5 of the 12 songs for Mystery White Boy which is easily the most. Jeff also met his guitar hero Jimmy Page on this night after the show which Jimmy attended with Robert Plant. Page and Plant were playing in Melbourne the next 2 nights an almost all Led Zep setlist (with a couple of Doors covers believe it or not). I took my girlfriend to this show on her 22nd birthday so I never forgot the date and was thrilled to see it when this was released in 2000. Another 2 songs from this epic performance are on the Grace EP, Mojo Pin and Hallelujah. Jeff played the previous night at the Palais as well but the tickets sold out in minutes because he had been here 6 months earlier for 3 shows and a radio set (RRR Rooftop Cafe). He also played the next night at the Palace which was right next door to the Palais but I never knew about that. It was probably announced and sold out on the day. It was more of a rock venue, a big room with great sound, compared to the beautiful old Palais but Jeff was equally comfortable in either of course. The Dambuilders were supporting throughout the Hard Luck Tour as the Australian leg was known, featuring Joan Wasser who was Jeff's lover at the time. The Grifters were also touring, and Jeff dedicates this rendition of Grace to them. Apparently the night before Jeff closed the show with Just Like A Woman. I want to hear that :)
