I love the attention to detail in the melodies. Reminds of Augury.

I'm just now, discovering Gorod. Holy fuck I've been missing out. These guys are fucking incredible. I must purchase whatever albums they have immediately.

This is SO true... I remember being given this album and after a quick listen I decided I didn't care much for. Boy was I wrong.

1. Not little kids.
2. Pretty sure they play 7 strings, rhythms far more complex than gorod writes, AJ Minnette has a degree is classical music, the lead guitar work as well as the rhythm is incredible for both bands, odd time sigs, tons of syncopation, etc.
Go Listen to XiV/behold by born of osiris...I don't think you've ever listened to them before by the way you describe them.

>born of osiris
>better than Gorod
so, a bunch of little kids who know how to play one note on an 8-string and fuck around with a synthesizer are better than a group of incredibly talented Jazz musicians who compose stupidly difficult and complex tech/prog death metal songs?
people these days...

He used a contraction of "folk" and "would." He wasn't referring to folk metal, he meant "folks" as in people.

Don't get me wrong, I love gorod, fantastic band...but they've never made a XIV/Behold.

There are deathcore bands like The human abstract and Born of Osiris that are better than gorod.

amen to that. i feel the 'melodic' should be high lighted though. the 'tech' bit can be a little off-putting to some as too many bands have adopted that style. Still, a rose by any other name..... peace

every time i get a new gorod album i think the same thing but within a week i'm hooked.
LEADING VISION is probably the best but give transcedence & absolution a solid listen if you haven't already. i'm certain you'd like their new vid if you're a fan of the old music.
