I have only heard this song ONCE before.  On July 6, 1979 at Summerfest in Milwaukee when Gord played it live!

This is a really cool song, it's a shame Gordon didn't release it on one of his albums or as a single. It's full of his signature nautical imagery, and the whole song has a dark groove that reminds me of Blue Oyster Cult's 'Don't Fear the Reaper'. The old-time movie footage you included with this video also really seems to fit the song, Attaremad.I suspect the reason why it never got released was because it didn't fit the theme of Dream Street Rose or Salute, or the cross-over country sound of Shadows. But the musical direction that Heavenbound was moving in could have helped make an album like Salute much more dynamic, with more radio-friendly tunes if Gordon had chosen to expand on that direction.

I am very excited this morning!  WOW - I have been spending quite a bit of time mulling over the idea of the internet/utopia and now I realize being best is just not good enough.... why is that you might ask ??  OK, well... hmm... now I forgot!  Wait... people are always trying to be better than someone else... usually... and it is pretty much unconscious AND a human value.  Finally, you reach the pinnacle (like a giant spider on a porcelain pedistal) of your success and you are the best at what you do.  What could be better than that?  Well, you could be a teacher!  Now to me a teacher simply means setting an example... and yes, people will follow whether it be good or bad.  hahahahaha  HEAVEN BOUND!  Means setting a good example for others to follow.  Pure and simple, my friend!  Now let's not get teaching confused with instructing.  Instructors give lessons... teachers do not.  Teachers merely live their lives in such a way that others wish to be just like them.  ;-)
