Funny thing is this doesn't sound "dated", the way a lot of other '80s music now seems. He used what was popular at the time -- synthesizers, programmed drum machines, etc. -- but he used them in an elegant, graceful way, to showcase his songwriting, which always shines through, no matter what. A nice song, and just as listenable today as it was in 1986.
