A great song but it has such a sad tone to it. It is one an album called "Cold On The Shoulder". When Gord recorded it he was involved in a marital breakup and was very depressed. It came through on most of the songs on that album. In fact, Lightfoot's ex wife, Brita, received the largest alimony settlement ever in Canada, up to that time, in 1970. She was a Swedish beauty.
