This Gospel song is from "The Soldier of the Cross" CD. I've tried to honor the aging veterans of WWII with the song and video. The war images are from the Battle of the Bulge. The scenic images are from the Ardennes and Belgium.

This country's aging veterans are experiencing the onset or a second, late-in-life occurrence of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The estimate of one in twenty by the Veteran's Administration may actually be higher. We still need to remember their sacrifices. They still need our prayers.

Fabulous slides that bring the lyrics deep into our hearts. The photos of the vets show so much pride of serving our country then.

Wonderful song but I can only hope that the newer generations remember these people and what they went through. They didn't go to the Dr to get help for post traumatic stress , they lived with it and most took their memories to the grave with them. To all veterans,,, May God Bless and thank you for your service!!!!!

As we age this song becomes more and more a reality with each passing day. The man who wrote this song said he left it to others to record and sing. Now he has Gone Home as well.Precious old song with a precious promise of hope. I once listened to a testimony of an elderly lady. She said when it came time for her funeral she didn't expect many people to show up for it. Reason being, she had outlived all her family and most of her friends. That testimony broke my heart when I realized there are so many old folks who don't have any of their close friends and loved ones around anymore. No wonder so many of the older Christians are looking forward to that time of blessed reunion.

Being hero's is not the reason they went. They don't want a title & they don't need medals. They left all they knew behind to go fight for our country & our freedoms. Every soldier seen death and destruction and wandered if they'd make it out alive. Wives walked the floor begging the Lord to keep him safe. Mothers would pray and hoped the Lord would take them in his care. Thanks to every soldier.
