We sailed under the golden gate bridge in 1963 on our way to Japan to a Navy port not knowing we would end up off the Vietnam coast in the war. Came home in 1966 no longer a boy of 19. This time I flew back on an Air Force C130 with 30 men and 5 KIA from Nam it was very sad to see those boys with our flag draped on their coffins, those boys that never had a chance to marry and have kids and grand kids, so sad.

This song was sang at my grannys funeral as the coffin was leaving the church made me cry but the lady was a wonderful singer When I hear this song it reminds me of her! Miss her so much!!

This has broken my heart all over again. A long time ago my husband gave up the sea to be with me. Just before he died last year he kept on about sailing all his old routes. I hope that this is what he is doing now. I miss him and cant wait to be with him and this is going to be my goodbye song to my children xx
