Track 3.

Us And Them (1999):

Us and Them is Godflesh's fifth official album. Released on May 17th in Europe, June 8th is the US release date. As with Songs of Love and Hate, the album is influenced by breakbeats, drum and bass, industrial and even hip hop.

There are no live drums on this record, unlike the last release. Live to Lose is actually an older track, originally recorded in 1995, but never released. A dub counterpart was scheduled, but never released.

Lyrics:

take my soul

take my body

take it all

make your money

it's all just you

put me down

rape my purity

for your security

i can't give

i can only take

i can't love

i can only hate

all i believe in

is just fake

but it keeps me believing

for sanitys sake

Credits:

G. C. Green - bass

J. K. Broadrick - guitar, vocals

metalhead rate bad this album, but this sounds awesome!!! not the original godflesh sound but why would you want 10 albums to sound the same? this is somehow like j broadrick project blood of heroes, except far groovier and denser! love this shit

@Eldeecue It's true. Justin is a fucking beast beyond Metal. He's covered almost every good style of music during his run in Godflesh [and Jesu fucking rocks as well]

I wouldn't call them "industrial" at this phase in their progression. DON'T get me wrong, this is extremely excellent shit. Pure and Slavestate (Perfect Skin Dub...god I love that track--more industrial than most industrial bands ever were) were thier industrial phase more or less. This is very dub and almost hip-hop (in terms of beats) in influence.

"rape my purity, for your security" ......my favorite line in the song. I liked this song right off the bat when I bought Us and Them.
