I think many are mislead by the actual nature of the message of this song. It doesn't appear to be focused on delivering approval or disproval of any war and peace policies. Its genuine meaning is more literal and it's a celebration of those who fought and fall for their country and did that in good faith and will. The remembrance is sought as a means to avoid a second death, as the controversy around the war is susceptible to cast oblivion on the sacrifice of these women and men .
