For his first solo show in Australia in June of 2006 at the famed Sydney venue, Hughes brought his unique brand of Rock-Funk to a new audience. Indeed, this is one of Britain1s greatest Rock singers in acoustic mode, intimate and live, and his soulful, distinctive voice is in top-notch condition throughout. The songs range across his career, taking in material from his solo albums like 1977's Play Me Out to 2005's Soul Mover and his newest release Music For The Divine. On top of that, Hughes returns to his legendary Deep Purple days for 'This Time Around', 'You Keep On Moving', an astonishing rendition of 'Mistreated' and a duet with celebrated Aussie Rock front man Jimmy Barnes on 'Getting Tighter.

Glenn Hughes is heavily influenced vocally by Stevie Wonder.

Saw Glenn with Trapeze, Stones, Eagles, and Montrose about a thousand years ago in the Cotton Bowl. Man he still sounds great ! John Fogerty is another who has kept his voice pretty much intact also. Keep rocking Glenn !

Really? I always thought that Glenn's funky influence really came to prominence on Stormbringer. Even Blackmore is said to have dismissed it as "Glenn Hughes' Shoe-Shine Music." He didn't sing as much as on "Burn" and nowhere near what he sang on "Come Taste the Band," but his influence on the material seemed quite strong on Stormbringer...no ?

I agree totally with you...I have been a GH fan since 1973 when I heard Trapeze's "U R the music, We R just the band"...

Amazing, GH's voice sounds as fresh and new as it did during the early 70's with the classic Trapeze years...Commercial GH singing Coast to Coast in '73, now this is what your voice sounds after years of doing drugs...This video...What...Amazing...

@g6akn I agree with you 100%. I'm falling in love with Glenn's entire music career (not just his Deep Purple days) because of his association with Joe Bonamassa. Glenn is a multidimensional artist...and one hell of a nice guy. Yours in music, DebFromMaine

This version is great, but the faster tempo just blew it for me! I bet they're thinking the same once they heard it later! Still amazing vox from Hughes!

@HardRockDrummer666 Thanks for the comment, I really don't know why purple "Underused" Glenn on Burn Stormbringer, It seemed to take him untill Come Taste for him to "Settle in" or be allowed to make some major contributions. I know that many did not take to his Higher vocal range but this clip shows Glenn at his best.
