This piece is absolutely brilliant, it captures the tragic figure that Commodus is in this film, being emperor´s son and not being worthy of the trust of his father. Of course, the real Commodus was nothing like this. Was much worse, it´s impossible for any audience to feel any empathy for the real Commodus, the dude was an asshole. I understand that Hollywood had to make changes for dramatic purposes.

I have always loved this part in the soundtrack, its sort of the music you would hear as a final stand is about to happen when you realize you are about to be overcome by swarms of enemy soldiers and you and your comrades fight to the death. I always thought of a scene in my head like that going on when i hear this music.
