Yiur dad was a friend of mine for many years. I never worked at NBC, but I met him through the late Bob and Lenore Jensen and Roy Neal. I also used to talk with him on ham radio. I was not aware he had passed so my belated condolences to you and your family. -- Bill Pasternak (WA6ITF)

WOW! What a backstory! I am very familiar with your father's work. Condolences on his passing. He was a creative man. We're the same age. I was sitting in the audience at the taping of their first special (T.C.B.) at the NBC Studios on 8/23/68, so I understand how this footage moves you. I'd love to hear more about the backstage stories on G.I.T. because I've watched several reels of outtakes, and it looked like a very strained environment. It's not either group's finest moment.

Thank you for uploading this clip, I haven't seen this in decades. I was 8 when this aired. My dad Bob Finch was the Technical Director on this. It was the hardest show to produce and unfortunately it caused him a heart attack, Diana was nice and visited him in the hospital. But now that he has passed away it moves me immensely. Thank you, Thankyou!! :]

I had this album. (My parents actually remember seeing this on TV). I always kind of imagined their choreography to be more or less like this.

@gayboymotown Yes. You are correct. The costumes for GIT were designed by Bob Mackie and at the time, Mackie gowns were highly prized. The Supremes used these black gowns and the peach feather gowns at the farewell concert. Throughout the 1970's, the GIT gowns (as well as nearly every other supremes gown) were worn by every Supremes lineup. I've seen pictures from 1977 with Scherrie, Mary and Susaye in these black gowns.

Weren't these the gowns the Supremes wore a few months later at the Frontier Hotel during the farewell performance?
