Gorgeous to hear this in 3-part harmony; different from the spare haunting sound that Gillian and Dave have perfected in their duo performance. Happy and full.

Someone has fixed the volume, so listen to it again. Jillian was being mad at Dave and made him NOT play his guitar and its sorta sad to me

If anyone ever asks me to produce an Easter service, this song will definitely be in it.

The song playing in my head right now. This is a newish song, written by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, but it perfectly captures the type of music I grew up with, in small churches in Western North Carolina. Hearing it sends shivers down my spine.

Simple and beautifully done.... Thanks, Gillian, for this song. You're free and will feel welcome to sing at our little Church! You would feel right at home!

@deborahkauffman09 I'll take Ms. Myrtle Miller singing an acapella version of "Amazing Grace", but this is a beautiful song. I like the Dailey-Vincent Band version also.

I am so in love with Gillian. She is tender and strong at the same time with a voice authentic as a stormy sky.

There is very little volume in this post. It would have sounded great.

Thanks for that bit of info Fayeroe1009: I knew her parents were musicians and all and how she wrote many of her songs when she was young and before she started her adult musical career. Now I know why I like her so much as I myself loved the Carol Burnet show..

I love it! Don't know the song but it's a good one. Beautifully sung. :-)

Listen closely to the harmonies. They are carefully crafted (similar to shape-note singing). which makes it sound like music made 250 years ago in Appalachia.
