A Day Late And Dollar Short!

This is amazing song from Ian Gillan's 2006 album "Gillan's Inn".

Song was originally written by Gillan, but then re-recorded by Ian Gillan, Ronnie James and Uli Jo Roth.

musically, lyrically, vocally. 70s freddie is best freddie. until he started to don that silly mustache (thos it suits him) and those ridiculously flamboyant leather attires. batons hat and all. I love freddie tho. a night of the opera was my 1st CD album. cherished memories.

Whilst I respect your opinion, I tend to look past Mercury's "gay prancing" and just listen to his voice. Freddie, like Dio was one of a kind and irreplaceable. Regardless of what you may think, Freddie was and still is a musical legend and Queen continues to inspire many musicians, as does Dio. Each to their own, as you say.

Freddie Mercy was so overrated...he belonged on Broadway singing goddamn show tunes and one cannot even compare him to Dio---Dio was a metal singer, mercury was a pop rock singer....his gay prancing and theatrics were a turn off for me as well...but hey if you dig that crap to each his own....

I can hear Dio clearly. This is typical of his backing vocal style. If you've heard any of his work with Rainbow, it should be familiar to you.

Your entitled to your opinion, my friend. They are both great singers.

Whilst I would love to agree with you there, I'm not so sure. Don't get me wrong, I think Dio's the finest voice to ever grace the world of heavy metal, but for me, the greatest of them all is Freddie Mercury.
