Nodules make him sound bad at some of those highs to me he sounds like ahhggghhh instead of ahhhhhh but better than some of his later performances

I followed Ian Gillan band right from its conception as a jazz based group, much preffered Bernie to Janick on lead. Then years on i heard the trio GMT (Robin Guy drums, John Mcoy bass & Bernie Torme lead) were taking part in a charity gig at my local hall. Next minute there's me talking to these guys who i had idolised for years, followed by a storming set & Bernie shaking my hand, giving me the plectrum he'd just played with, truly great night!

Elvis Presley is maybe The King Of Rock N' Roll, But Ian Gillan is always gonna be THE GOD OF ROCK N' ROLL!

This is why this guy is the greatest Rock-Singer EVER! - No Freddie Mercury, no Robert Plant, no Ozzy, no Dio, no nobody could do that. Performances like this divide the real great Rockers from the rest. Bon Jovi can get 90 years old - the will never rock like this.

This from around the time that Jan walked into the Greensides pub in Hartlepool where I was leaning on the bar waiting for the rest of my mates and said dead matter of fact like after he had ordered the drinks while chatting to me ...... "Oh ... sorry .... have you met Ian before?" ... I turned round to see who "Ian" was and ... well you can guess the rest! BTW John McCoy is actually a really nice guy ........... he turned up later! What a night!

Jeez! The dude on bass is frightening me. I'd love to see anyone try and rush the stage with him there. He also passes a striking resemblance to my mother-in-law. Ian Gillan is fantastic here (as good as ever). But with McCoy playing behind him, would anyone dare sing a bum note?
