..... and I bagsy being in goal. What a lyric. We all used to say 'bagsy' back then when we wanted to claim something. I love Gilbert's songs from this era.

Gilbert O'Sullivan....."We Will". Nel 1971 diventa "Prima Notte Senza Lei", incisa dai Profeti, "coveristi" in esclusiva per l'Italia, dei brani del bravissimo Gilbert.

What a song! I am a 30 year old man...but this song makes me bawl my eyes out...and I don't even know why! The melody is beautiful...and something about this song evokes childhood and innocence. There is a singer named Rumer who did a nice cover version of this song too...

He wrote some gorgeous songs ,Alone Again & Nothing Rhymed should be up there with the great tunes of all time & he will be re-discovered ,it's only a matter of time, hope he's around to enjoy the profits.

Absolutely beautiful song - the lyrics are so evocative of the sorts of things aunts and grandparents would say when I was a kid: 'Quickly, don't run!' Absolute genius.

Back then I was a partial 11 year old who thought he was uncool;especially the cloth cap business. But today I can see what a complete genius he was and is.His song make me so emotional. He beats Elton John to a cocked hat.

I hope he fired the manager who decided on that foolish gettup. I'm surprised they didn't get him to dress as a leprechaun , but they went with another Irish sterotype image.
