Gerry Rafferty - When I Rest (B-side from the single Sleepwalking). Probably it's not Gerry's best song. But it's one of his lesser known songs and the title seems to have some 'relevance' since Gerry died on January 4. 2011. Gerry, rest in peace. Thank you for the great music you gave us.

The Infomaniac

Gerry Rafferty never cared about fame or the celebrity life style, all he ever wanted was respect for his talent and songs. He also never trusted the music industry and look what they're doing now. Most of the artists today are completely manufactured, they might as well just stepped off a fucking conveyor belt. In 40 years time people won't even remember Justin Bieber, One Direction or Miley Cyrus, their music is bland and forgettable. All the proper bands played in bars and clubs for years trying to clinch a record deal, they don't go on some crappy talent show get it handed to them on a silver platter!

Anyone who thinks that "Baker Street" was a good song is in for a treat..... Check out "Right or Wrong", "Ferguslie Park", anything else by "Stealer's Wheel" and indeed any of Mr. Rafferty's (so- called) "B- sides" and you will quickly realise that most of them are far superior to most of today's A-sides. Rest in Peace Mr. Rafferty.... you helped me get through it all, and I will be forever grateful.

Same goes for US releases in UK. Check out GEMM - US based, Musicstack or Netsounds - UK based. You've a fairly good chance of aquiring Rafferty's singles from them.

This is awesome! EMI really needs to re-release or create a box set of all of Rafferty's recordings including this b-side and the rare Single Edits all remastered, it is very difficult (especially in the US) to find all of these rare recordings. Thanks for sharing :-)
