It is a beautiful song and lyrics. Two people who sing this really well are Eddie Reader and Olivia Newton-John. The Eddie Reader version, which I heard, was live with her acoustic guitar an incredibly beautiful performance.

So there is no synth in this mix and their is an acoustic intro instead of the synth intro it sounds like to me. Thank you for sharing!
