Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street (Official Remix ['89 re-recording]) video free download
Official remix for "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty. This version was released on "Right Down the Line: The Best of Gerry Rafferty" in 1989 and was released as a single in 1990 which only made it up to #53 in the UK. This recording is labeled as a remix, but I don't consider it one. It is basically a 1989 re-recording after digital recording came along, The way that it is different from the original album version is that the vocals sound deeper and there is more reverb added to them and the drums/percussion is a little different on the verses. I prefer the original, which of course has been digitally remastered since this "remix" came out. I prefer the moog-inspired sound effects (which I think were done on guitar) that seem to be buried here. But, it is nice to be able to hear the individual instruments of the orchestra in this version.7 years ago

Thank you for bringing MORE Life to this, most "remixes" are lost versions of what was intended. Whoever re-recorded this added MORE depth, character, and the Original Love Gerry had intended - although this only hit #53 in 1990 (most people had lost their individuality by then - the song would have no meaning to them), it will always be #1 to me.8 years ago
