Georgia Gibbs est une chanteuse américaine, née le 17 août 1919 à Worcester (Massachusetts), et décédée le 9 décembre 2006 à New York.

Sa carrière, commencée en 1936, avec un premier enregistrement accompagnée par le Hudson-DeLange Orchestra en 1936, s'est à peu près achevée en 1958, avec son dernier grand succès, The Hula Hoop Song, suivi d'un bref retour dans l'actualité musicale en 1965-1966, sans égaler ses succès des années 50.

Georgia Gibbs (August 17, 1919-- December 9, 2006) was an American popular singer and vocal entertainer rooted in jazz. Already singing publicly in her early teens, Gibbs first achieved acclaim (and notoriety) in the mid-50's interpreting songs originating with the black rhythm and blues community and later as a featured vocalist on a long list of radio and television variety and comedy programs. Her key attribute was tremendous versatility and an uncommon stylistic range from melancholy ballad to uptempo swinging jazz and rock and roll.
