Love the Olsen organization -- and this song! I must admit that my favorite version has Andre Kostelanetz backing Jeanette MacDonald, though! {always room for one more of a fave, though!}

Nice to hear the original. :) I know the Michael Nesmith & The First National Band version.

My favorite version of this song, it sits nicely next to "Home in Passadena".

When I first heard this, didn't know it was about a train. When I found it was, got intrigued as to the inspiration. This fits the song to a very capital T, and then some.

This song (possibly this verion) was the inspiration for composer Axexander Courage's original Star Trek theme. He said he used to listen to the song on the radio as a kid, and always loved the tune.

Thanks for the link. I'm pretty certain that's the version I once had even though the last time I heard it was over 50 years ago! Many,many thanks again.
