A poignant song about war with its consequences - touches my heart deeply - more so when it was rendered by one of the greatest Country singer that ever lived.

I served from 07-11 and was homeless for a few months. I got a job and was going to school but because of the class schedule I only got to work 2 hours a day. Normally your gi bill would help with this but it took so long for my benefits to kick in I got behind on bills, had to start selling stuff, and lived out of my truck. It took a while to get back on my feet and felt like I was being punished for serving. And people laugh when you say illegal immigrants get better treatment than veterans. God bless America

The big corporate heads make their millions with their war mongering and the people they send out to do their killing are neglected and this is the results.

Been country all my life, George Jones has been and still is my favorite. Had the privilege of seeing him many time and also meeting him in Nashville, Tennessee . He invited me over to his table, to meet his wife, then sat me down with them ! Talked for almost an hour ! A blessing from him to me. Shall never forget.

I live far away from US , in Croatia , Europe , but I think that country music told me more abpout US and their ordinary people than any other source of information.
