if they "want to be pop and rock stars" then why do you want them to "look the part" for country? Don't get me wrong I don't like much of that stuff either but just let music be music, it won't hurt anyone. In fact it brings a lot of people joy whether we like it or not.

I do agree with you as too many want to be pop and rock stars as they do not sound country. But what has bothered me that when they sound country, why not look the part? George Strait is possibly the only clean cut/clean shaven man there is in the music industry and still wear a cowboy hat, jeans and shirt to look country. I would never expect a strict dress code, but what is coming out of Nashville today is crap.

Hey, I'm a guy with long hair, and TRUST ME, you'll not find one as country as me. What does having long hair and a clean shaven face have to do with it? But, in the same breath, they DO look the part. Whoever said country singers today WERE singing country? They're singing rock-n-roll and they THINK they're rock stars, so...in a way...they are looking the part. :)

Compared to the so called country male singers who's hair is way too long and looks like rock stars, George Jones looks like a real country singer, better looking haircut and clean shaven face, unlike most country singers today. If you are going to sing the part, look the part!
