@ twinPaula12. This song was written by Darrell "Sonny" Edwards who also wrote Why Baby Why, Tender Years, and others. True to fashion in the day many of Edward's songs will have Jones as co-writer. Edwards wrote some really good stuff and I have been fortunate to have been given a lot of his recordings from some family members. There's only one George Jones and this is one of his best. I love everything he sings and his background music is always just right. This is one of the best country songs ever written and I am wondering who wrote this winner. This song is played constantly on the juke box at our American Legion Post.
