This song kills me! Love how guides the band through the song and they follow along.

There are other great out takes from ATMP on Songs For Patti and Beware of Abcko, not to mention It Don't Cone Easy. You is a great Ronettes-type rocker. Never heard this version before, it's great.

This might just be my favorite George song period (the final version).  It's just fantastic....a real shame he didn't finish this in the ATMP sessions (as I really dig the energy of this demo).  I am very excited to FINALLY have this remastered witht he Apple Years Box.  Extra Texture is a pretty solid record too, I'd say it's maybe my 2nd or 3rd favorite of George's (All Things...then a battle between Extra Texture and Brainwashed).  Texture has a few great tunes (this, Answers at the End, This Guitar, and the sublime Oooh You.....very soulful.  George's solo career could be a bit hit or miss in my mind, but this song shows the talent that was always present in spades.

It speaks  badly for the  Extra Texture album  that the best song on that album  is  an outtake from All things must pass.

interesting details, ...probably for that reason in the song "FAR EAST MAN" ( worked with Ronnie Wood, 1974), specifically in the INTRO, George Harrison said: "This is for Frank Sinatra...we love you, Frank, and we hope you include this one on Caesar's Palace, and your next live album" :)

I believe he called it 'the greatest love song ever written', he did attribute it to Lennon/McCartney though
