This is the post-beatle recording at Regent studios (I think) helmed, as we say, by Phil Spector. They had more up to date equipment than the Apple Studios that were being updated at the time.

@Jodieroad Only the ones that were recorded on the twin track machine were mixed like that and of course not the mono. Geprge Martin said he recorded them like that to make the mono mix better. Of couse as technology moved forward and the number of multitrack channels grew the better the remixes. I loved the seperation that old stuff.

Apple just removed the vocals, added the extra trumpet and threw it in as song 13 on All Things Must Pass. I love just blaring it in my car, then right after, the remastered edition of My Sweet Lord as song 14... AMAZING!

Many if not all the Beatles era songs were split tracked. The recorder here simply took the music from the right speaker, (or left).

It's the songs original back tracking, just the instrumental. It was from the 30th anniversary edition. Hope that helps.
